NANOWEAR | NANOFRICTION TESTING

Nanoscratch, nanoadhesion testing

Retrofitted on Platform or Compact Base, the Nano Module during Nano Wear Friction Mode has precision low load wear capability especially critical for industries such as medical Instruments. Nano Wear Friction Testing is also becoming central to many developments in applications such as MEMS and fiber optics. The piezo-electric control of the Nano Wear Tester allows extremely quick reaction to changes on the surface to ensure constant load at fast speed and on rough surfaces.

Nano Wear Process:
A pin or a ball is loaded onto a test sample with a stable weight with feedback control. Wear rates for the pin and the disk are calculated from the volume of material lost during the test. Controlled atmosphere, liquid and temperature can be varied at the test point. Linear mode is possible with the standard x-y motorized table while the pin-on-disk test requires the rotation table upgrade. Friction is measured through a change in torque in the pin-on-disk mode and with a capacitive spring system on linear system. For Nano Wear technical testing data see application notes
